Growing Racial And Cultural Equity

Growing Racial and Cultural Equity (G.R.A.C.E.) is a team of professional and lay leaders whose mission is to support congregations to increase their capacity for anti-racist, anti-oppressive, and multicultural ministries. The work of the team began in 2009 as a district strategy for supporting culture change within congregations and was originally supported by both the Unitarian Universalist Association's (UUA) office of Identity-Based Ministry and the Clara Barton District.

Today, the team works in partnership with regional staff in order to fulfill its mission. The group organizes an annual gathering of congregational teams committed to this work in their congregations. The gathering is an opportunity to learn from each other, to check in on congregational transformation, to renew commitments and to consider strategies for the coming year.
