First Parish in Lexington, a Unitarian Universalist congregation, seeks a Youth Programs Coordinator(YPC) to begin immediately for 18 hours per week from September 2014 through June, 2015.The YPC is responsible for programming for 6-12th graders in two separate youth groups (6-8 graders in JuniorYouth Group and 9th - 12th graders in Senior High Youth Group). Senior High Youth Group meets everySunday evening from 7:00 – 9:00 pm. Currently, the Junior Youth Group meets once a month on a Saturdayor Sunday afternoon for offsite events such as indoor rock climbing or a social action project. Junior/Senior Youth Group Advisor

The Junior/Senior Youth Groups Advisor works with volunteer advisors, the Youth Advisory Subcommittee of the RE Committee, and the DRE to organize and oversee the Junior Youth Group. S/he also acts as advisor to the Senior Youth Group when Junior Youth is not in session. The Junior/Senior Youth Group Advisor’s role is to empower youth to participate fully in the life of First Parish of Watertown and to facilitate activities that help youth develop a sense of connection and community with each other and with the larger church. The Junior Youth Group meets once a month after church services. Part-time Director of Religious Education for UU Essex Church

The role of the Office Administrator is one that requires maturity, flexibility, sensitivity, creativity, and a sense of humor. We are looking for someone who is comfortable working alone as well as collaborating with staff and many volunteers. The ideal candidate is organized, efficient, and has at least 2 years of experience working in a non-profit or church office setting. Attention to detail, compassion in dealing with others, frequent interruptions, and ability to prioritize are all part of the job.

Excellent written and verbal communication are essential, as you will be doing a lot of writing, proofreading, editing and responding to congregants. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products is required. Experience with Church Windows database (or similar product), graphic editing/desktop publishing tools, Google docs, Facebook page administration are all desired skills. Familiarity with Unitarian Universalism is a big plus.

We have a new Minister, a new Acting Director of Religious Education, a longtime Director of Music, and a hard-working Sexton on staff (your office is shared with the Sexton). King’s Chapel seeks a half-time Church School Director to lead and grow its program for children, infancy through high school.  The Director will report directly to the Senior Minister, and work 12-20 hours per week, beginning in September 2014. UU Urban Ministry

The UU Urban Ministry, a social justice organization based in the Roxbury neighborhood of Boston, is seeking candidates for our leadership team. The Unitarian Universalist Society of Gardner is seeking a Director of Religious Education to serve our small Central Massachusetts Congregation.  We are a beacon of liberal religion in a sea of mostly conservative churches.  Development of our religious education program is essential to our growth.  We currently have about 10 children in RE ranging in age from 3-12 years.  With the right DRE we expect to grow our program. The curriculum we are hoping to use should be multi-age with a focus on our UU values. 

Our church is open from early September to mid-June with two summer lay-led worship services. 

Job responsibilities include: selecting and implementing curriculum, teaching, training and supervising volunteer staff, supervising child care, and attending Religious Education Committee meetings.

Position Summary: To provide leadership (under the supervision of the minister and the immediate direction of the Religious Education Ministry) based in Unitarian Universalist principles and sources, providing programing designed to explore Unitarian Universalism and other religions, social justice and compassionate community, including programs designed to nurture individual spiritual and intellectual growth. This is a leadership and an administrative position. The DRE will also provide leadership and teaching for the Youth Group and its activities.
